New Heights Educational Group
New Heights Educational Group, also known as NHEG for short, is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote literacy for children and adults by offering a range of educational support services. New Heights Educational Group was founded in June 1, 2006 by Founder/ Executive Director Pamela Clark and two others; Pat Carr of Wauseon, Ohio came up with the name for the group and participated in the first year of meetings,  providing valuable ideas and input. Margaret Spangler of Holgate, Ohio is still an active board member/Co founder. She has put in many hours and helped develop/oversee the resources for families with autism and in many other ways. It is a volunteer driven, 501(c)(3) organization that aims to provide a range of educational support services to diverse northwest Ohio families with children in public, charter, and home schools. Such services include: assisting families in the selection of schools; organization of educational activities; tutoring and coaching services and acquisition of study materials. They promote a healthy learning environment and enrichment programs for families of preschool and school-age children, including children with special needs.
They are located in Northwest Ohio, and serve their neighboring counties Paulding; Defiance; Van Wert; Delphos; Lima; Lucas, Putnam County; Wauseon; and Napoleon. Their services reach all over the United States and oversees through online tutoring and educational resources.
They have served over 570 in person or they further estimate from this number that for the individual persons we have served on the low end of 2,265 individuals since 2006 and on the higher end of possibly 3,365 individuals. Online they serve 4400 annually and their internet radio show has reached 3,800.
History
New Heights Educational Group was formed to address a pronounced gap in educational resources for home schools, charter schools as well as the traditional school system. During the formation process, the founder, Pamela Clark, learned that many other families shared the same experiences. To help combat this educational gap, especially for children affected by learning disabilities such as ADHD, Bi-Polar disorder, Autism,Neurological Disorders, and Processing Disorders, the families began working collectively as a network to help one another, thus the forming the operational basis for New Heights Educational Group.
Since its inception, New Heights Educational Group has won 3 American Business Awards in various categories like ‘Company of the Year - Non-Profit or Government Organizations’, ‘Executive of the Year - Diversified Services including Non-Profits and Retail’ and ‘Organization of the Year – Government or Non-Profit’. 1 International Business Awards; Executive of the Year. 4 Women in Business Awards in various categories like Female Innovator of the Year, Organization of the Year It has also been named as a Top Nonprofit Organization in Ohio. New Heights Educational Group was featured in the Ohio Business Profile - August 2013 on the official website of Ohio Secretary of State and received recognition from the Governor and Lt Governor of Ohio. It has also received a gold rating from Guidestar, and received letters of recognition from representatives, congressman and secretary of the State of Ohio.
How NHEG Works
New Heights Educational Group offers a range of paid and complementary education support services and have assisted over 507 families since its inception in 2006. Some of the services provided by New Heights Educational Group include educational resources, tutoring services, library with over 3000 books and over 200 types of software and video resources, educational and disability resources, live internet radio program, field trips, and much more. Priding themselves as a one stop shopping center for education.
